How to care for motorcycle chains

Initially I visited the exhibition and hear the explanation and demonstration of special care products PRIMO Autocare motorcycle chains, I'd guess commonly wrote as other common products in the supermarket there, but after seeing the explanation and demonstration, wah ...... so want tried.

PRIMO products presented there are three products: LUBE-10 = Shoe Chain; = WAX LUBE Lubricants and Wax for the chain but the most interesting and the underdog is a slick WAX for Chain Lubricant & Wax, who has the ability to remain in place / SUPER durable and lubrication SMOOTH which makes super wear resistant.

According to the Technical Support PRIMO, Wax regular lubrication but do not have the ability in the Slick WAX Wax is very unique, has anti-wear and anti-rust as well. More interestingly, Slick WAX can reduce friction coefficient up to 70% by the formula additive metal treatment NIB (NANO IONIC BOND) that create a new layer so that the dimetal who dubbed LUBRICANT SUPER SMOOTH ALMOST NO AUS.

Looking at the evidence through a demo of some other products with PRIMO product, the result may be raised thumb deh, where Slick WAX can withstand load of more than 3x as much and predictable wear-resistant up to 25x higher than other products through a device called TEST FALEX wear.

Well finally, I try to take some material on how to care a motorcycle chain combined with the advice of the Technical PRIMO, be as below, may be useful.

Why a motorcycle chain should be treated?

Acceleration / acceleration and deceleration increases the tension on the chain of the motorcycle as shown in FIG.
Motorcycle chain, oil and tires are part of a crucial / important in a safe and comfortable driving. Chain acts like a super Hero in driving the motor, he undertook the difficult task of transferring / moving power from the engine to the drive wheels and without inspection and maintenance can lead to failure, paralysis and even endanger the life of the rider.
How often should chain-inspection and tuned?Depending on how aggressively you drive, the chain should be inspected every 800-1000 km, or an average of 2 times a month.

What should be prepared when it comes to caring for the chain?A. Various sizes of wrenches2. A soft brush or a toothbrush that has been unused3. Maintenance Products, here we use the Product PRIMO:A. CLEANING: LUBE PRIMO-10, nyengat odorless, clear clean and not sticky like other products make a lot more oil lubricated2. LUBRICANT: There are 2 options PRIMO products are:- PRIMO Slick WAX higher costs nearly 2-fold, but more durable than 3x with its technology unique Wax and Anti-Geseknya can make hooked.- PRIMO WAX LUBE that after a try is better than ordinary products on the market I have ever tried. If I can recommend, just use the existing PRIMO NIB Slick WAX is made super slick, clean and lubricate the troublesome yet it ga Slick WAX worth the price of a 2-fold with WAX LUBE Chain Lube or common product on the market right? Anyway it can feel cool spin chain with the reduced friction of 70% is not it? Moreover, versatile, can be used lubricate drive home satellite dish, hinges, door rolling pin connections, etc..4. The new peg pin (if necessary adjust the chain tension)5. Rags (for wiping the dirt used to melt or in chains)6. Hammer / rubber mallet (optional, if necessary)
How to chain inspection?

Use the measuring ruler (or measuring visual only), hold the chain in the middle between the front and rear sprocket and drag up and down and make sure the chain moves about 1 inch up or down time.
If the chain moves more than 1 inch up / down, it is necessary diketatkan. And if too tight, loosen.

How to chain sprocket inspection?
Inspection to see the wear of the sprocket to close; sharp teeth will tell you clearly how these motors have been used and cared for.
Front and rear sprocket teeth is a good indicator of whether or not the chain is set or treated. Inspection to the teeth of the chain to determine whether interlocked with each other by a chain to the correct position. If the tooth wear occurs, the teeth most likely not seated properly against the chain, if the conditions are very sharp, which means get ready to reach for the pocket to replace a new sprocket.

Clean the chain with the PRIMO LUBE-10

Make sure to wear suitable cleaning o-ring, and turn the wheel while spraying cleaning fluid on a chain and sprocket. Assist with the mastery to clean stubborn dirt.

Although the chain should or should not be set, make sure you keep the chain clean and well lubricated. Cleaning is to avoid hard and grind dirt into metal so worn out.

Most modern chains are o-ring type which use rubber components and sensitive to a particular solvent, choose the appropriate cleaners such as PRIMO LUBE-10.

Lubricate the chain with the product: PRIMO Slick WAX or WAX LUBE

Good lubrication and wear properly will significantly extend the life of the chain
Rotate the wheel slowly while spraying with just a thin layer of lubricant on the chain sprocket teeth will carry on. Make sure all parts are lubricated properly.
Note: From the test results, evidenced PRIMO SLICKWAX has a very unusual feature
in the resistance against wear and corrosion resistance was 3 times is much more durable.

Clean dirt or excessive lubricant / smudged.

Wipe with a cloth that covered the liquid so that the chain and the vehicle body looks clean and pleasing to the eye. Make sure all the sprocket teeth and chain connection is clean.

Setting the Chain Tension (Only If It)

Chain tension is generally determined by the distance between the front and rear sprocket and most motorcycles have a number / index marks for help setting it up.

Motorcycle chains have different coping mechanisms, and generally, the rear axle and wheels rotated in circles forward and backward to adjust the chain tension.

If the chain tension is set correctly, then the chain should be moved upwards and
Under the distance between 0.75 to 1 inch for signs of looseness measure chains that fit.

As tightening the Rear Wheels

When moving the rear axle, make sure that both sides are parallel / aligned perfectly before diketatkan, otherwise it can cause wear on both chain and sprocket. Tighten bolts evenly and should replace the axle pin with a new peg.

Thanks for the Bikers and PRIMO principal who has given valuable input how to care for motorcycle chains. We are sorry if the review is less willing or are still far from perfect.
